A longtime Williamson County resident, retired architect, and dedicated public servant — ready to bring decades of experience home to Fairview.

Meet
David

David Bynum is a longtime Williamson County resident and retired architect who has served his community as a member of the Williamson County Board of Equalization.

Over the course of his career, David served as a Director of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and was the architect behind four Williamson County elementary schools — Bethesda, Crockett, Trinity, and Walnut Grove. His work has also included hospital master planning and design projects across the United States and internationally.

David earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee and has been a licensed architect in Tennessee since 1978.

"I've spent my career building the places this community depends on. Now I want to help build its future."

— David Bynum

Why He’s Running

For over four decades, David Bynum has helped shape the places where Williamson County families live, learn, and grow. Now he's ready to bring that same care and attention to detail to Fairview's city government.

David isn't new to public service. As a member of the Williamson County Board of Equalization, he's already spent years working on behalf of local taxpayers. As a candidate for Fairview Commissioner, he's asking for the chance to do even more — with the same steady, hands-on approach that's defined his entire career.

A Commitment to Fairview’s Kids

Putting His Money Where His Heart Is

David is running to serve, not to profit. If elected, he plans to donate his entire commissioner's salary to Fairview's two elementary schools — directed toward the school lunch program and teacher supplies.

It's a simple pledge, but it says everything about how David sees this role: not as a title, but as an extension of the service he's already given this community for years.

Why His Experience Matters

Built on Decades of Doing the Work

  • Four Williamson County elementary schools designed — Bethesda, Crockett, Trinity, and Walnut Grove — David understands local infrastructure and institutions from the ground up, literally.

  • Board of Equalization service — Hands-on experience with local government and the concerns of Williamson County property owners.

  • AIA Middle Tennessee Chapter Director — A track record of leadership within his profession and community.

  • National and international project experience — Large-scale hospital master planning work that required exactly the kind of long-term, big-picture thinking Fairview needs from its commissioners.

  • Licensed Tennessee architect since 1978 — Nearly 50 years of professional accountability and attention to detail.
